About the wellness centre and the east beaches regional complex
A beautiful facility dedicated to our health and recreation
The proposed Wellness Centre will be a part of the East Beaches Regional Complex project of the East Beaches Regional Complex Board. The Board is a cooperative effort of:
- The East Beaches Recreation & Wellness Coalition Inc.
- The Grand Beach & Area Development Corporation Inc.
- The Grand Marais & District Senior Citizens Inc.
- The Grand Marais Recreational Association Inc.
- The Rural Municipality of Alexander and
- The Rural Municipality of St. Clements
Each of these six organizations has a voice in the development of the Complex through a seat on the Board.
The East Beaches Regional Complex will be a facility that will feature many different services and amenities to accommodate the diverse health and recreational needs of people living in the East Beaches recreation area. It will include a wellness centre, a banquet hall, a four sheet curling rink, a senior's centre, a youth centre, a walking track, a jogging track and in the future an aquatics area with a large indoor swimming pool. The centre will also contain space for lease, ideal for professional health related services and meeting facilities for groups and organizations. When completed, the Centre will become a focal point for healthy living and wellness in our communities.

- Rehabilitation programming (WCB / MPI / post surgery)
- Illness prevention and management (diabetes / arthritis / heart)
- Family programming (pre-natal classes, etc.)
- Special youth programming
- Dance lessons
- Birthday parties and celebrations
- and in the future: public swimming, swimming lessons (all ages), aqua therapy, aqua fitness classes, group rentals for pools
