Health Authorities Collaborate With the Wellness Coalition
The Wellnes Centre in the new East Beaches Regional Complex will present a unique model for regional health care, as it will be located on the boundaries of two health regions.
On October 27, 2009 a special meeting was held with representatives from the Wellness Coalition, NEHA and IHRA to brainstorm how to collaboratively address the ‘Wellness’ component of the Centre.
The chairperson, Isabelle Brunel indicated that the purpose of the meeting was to identify what are the specifics of wellness, share the outcome of the recent survey, discuss how the two health authorities would use the Centre and determine schematic considerations for the architectural design to meet these needs.
The outcome was very constructive and exciting as we move forward in planning for the ‘Wellness’ mandate for our Centre. Future meetings will be held as we move forward in our design plan.
